my portfolio.

i may or may not have already shared this here, but i finally bit the bullet and sent my application into the visual arts department at byu. to be completely honest, i won't be too terribly disappointed if i'm not accepted - it was more for peace of mind than anything else. there is definitely a plan b.

i applied to the graphic design and photography programs, but could only send in one portfolio of 10 pieces. here is what i came up with - i'm hoping it came across as diverse rather than scattered :)

[for the photography portions, they advise that creativity be a bigger priority than quality - so that's what i was going for]

I love it! I hope you get in, but even if you don't, know that your work is awesome and tons and TONS of people agree (and you can still make money without getting into the BYU vis. arts program). But I hope you get in, because that'd be awesome. One of my good friends did illustration and painting there, and she went to Ghana a couple years ago to paint the pioneers of the church over there....someday, we're going to put our degrees to use and I'm going to write a children's book and she'll illustrate.

Even if you don't get in...or if you do, we'll still have you do our family photos!

I hope you get in. It would be such a great way to learn more and get even better at what you're already awesome at. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you. I love the pieces you chose. Way to go!
